Keeping Kids Safe: DMP’s Campaign For Sakatonik Amidst Covid-19

Amid the onset of the Covid-19 pandemic, as adults adapted to protocols by staying indoors, children found it challenging to maintain distance, especially during evening playtime in the neighborhood. In the early days of Covid in 2020, coinciding with Indonesian Children’s Day in July, we initiated the #GerakanTanganABC campaign. This effort focused on teaching children to keep a safe distance using their hands’ reach, emphasizing handwashing, mask-wearing, and internal strength through consuming Sakatonik ABC. Utilizing simple dancing gestures and a memorable jingle crafted by our team, we became pioneers in conveying Covid-19 protocols to children.

The movement gained momentum, with schools incorporating our ritual and jingle into online sessions, making it a widespread practice. Notably, the Ministry of Health in Indonesia endorsed and supported our campaign, marking it as a pioneering effort in simplifying crucial health information for children during the pandemic.

Following the educational video, Sakatonik ABC #GerakanTanganABC has been applied in many places in Indonesia. This compilation video, showed how Indonesian children easily applied health protocols using #GerakanTanganABC

A unique communication and visual design for Sakatonik ABC is created to make the social media fun, informative, yet stood out amongst the crowd of Instagram/Facebook feed.

Using the “stamp” look to show that from one content to other content are connected and become a big picture of children’s life.

As a continuation of the #GerakanTanganABC initiative, we produced a television commercial (TVC) underscoring the anticipation of children who, after nearly two years of staying at home during the pandemic, eagerly yearned to return to school and engage in outdoor activities. The TVC emphasized the role of Sakatonik ABC in conjunction with #GerakanTanganABC, acting as a dual safeguard for children—providing protection from external factors when they venture outside and fortifying their immune systems from within through regular Sakatonik ABC consumption. This campaign aimed to reinforce the importance of holistic protection for children as they navigated the transition back to school amid the ongoing challenges of the pandemic.
